Class Description: Blending is one of the defining skills that is simple to learn, hard to master. In this workshop, students will learn how to create smooth, intentional transitions. Good brushwork all starts before the hairy bit even touches the pigment!
We’ll break blending down into practical systems—understanding value control, paint consistency, brush pressure, and edge management—before applying them through guided exercises.

Techniques explored may include layering, feathering, glazing, and controlled wet blending, with discussion on when and why each method is most effective.

Suggested Materials for Students:
Wet palette or paint holder, a selection of mid-size and fine detail brushes and a note pad and pen.
